Wiring a Switched Outlet

Electrical Question: In laundry closet, i am trying to add a switched outlet and switch after existing gfci. All are 20a and existing wire from panel is 12 2.

How to Wire Switched Outlet

Timothy asks:
In laundry closet, I am trying to add a switched outlet and switch after existing GFCI.
All are 20A and existing wire from panel is 12 2.
I have 12 2 to work with (as well as 12 3 if needed).
GFCI will have washing machine plugged in.
Switched outlet will only have dryer vent booster fan.
My thinking after some reading on your site was: line in to GFCI, GFCI load to line of outlet.
Outlet load to line of switch.
As I understand, this is ok.
My confusion is for the ground wire.
Do I take switch ground to outlet ground screw, and then outlet ground to GFCI ground screw together with ground wire back to panel?

Or do I pigtail a ground from the switch to go into GFCI box, where all the ground wires come together?

Something else?

Picture for reference, hope along with this, I was clear enough.
Thank you for any help.

    Wiring a Generator

Electrical Question: I just got a lcw1000 3 in 1 handheld laser cleaning, welding, cutting machine. The manufacture says the standard voltage of this machine is 220v single phase 60hz in the picture it shows the 3 wires on the machine.

    How to Wire Generator

    Allen asks:
I just got a LCW1000 3 In 1 Handheld Laser Cleaning, Welding, Cutting Machine.
The manufacture says The standard voltage of this machine is 220V single phase 60Hz In the picture it shows the 3 wires on the machine.

Talking trough e mail in china they connect this direct to what they call an air switch, we call them breakers.

My concern is that only having 3 wires connecting to a 4 prong plug what happens to the un connected prong?

I need help to make sure I wire the NEMA L14 30P correctly to so I get the 220 from the NEMA L14 30R on my Honda eb 11000 generator.

Additional Comments: Nice website, Thank you for doing this.

    Electrical Safety Bathroom Exhaust Fan

    Jack asks:
My air o fan bathroom vent fan motor is old and noisy.
It is very rusty and corroded so bought a couple replacement motor fan assemblies.
My problem is the cord on the electrical plug is not long enough to reach the outlet on the box.
Is there any reason why I cannot just cut off the plug and outlet and hardwire it in?

The built in outlet is just a passthrough from the wall wiring.
