West Virginia Division of Labor Contractor Licensing
West Virginia has adopted specific professional guidelines for contractors as well as to protect state businesses and consumers who utilize their services. The Contractor Licensing Board is made up of state businessmen, contractors and construction specialists. The West Virginia Division of Labor acts as the enforcement arm of this Board with highly trained inspectors who travel the state performing routine inspections and investigate claims of unlicensed contractor activity.

NEC® National Electrical Code Adoption: 2014
As of July 2016, West Virginia new rules package includes the following 2015 ICC Family of codes which includes the IBC, IRC with the deletion of chapter 11 (Energy Code), IPC, IMC, IFGC, IPMC, 2009 IECC (Residential), 2007 ANSI/ASHRE standard 90.1 (Commercial), 2015 IEBC, 2015 ISPSC, and the 2014 National Electrical Code (NEC) without amendments.Please Note: Due to the nature of the electrical code adoption process, we cannot guarantee complete accuracy of this information.
