Alabama Electrical Contractors are licensed and regulated for the protection of consumers against deficient electrical installations. The Alabama Electrical Contractors Board issues licenses to certify electrical contractors and journeyman electricians to work within the State of Alabama.

State of Alabama Electrical Code Information

NECĀ® Adoption: 2014

Effective October 1, 2016. The AERC Board has adopted the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code as the Alabama Residential Energy Code and the 2015 International Residential Code as the Alabama Residential Building Code. This incorporates the 2014 NEC.
