How to Reset a Main Circuit Breaker
[ad#block]Electrical Question: I turned off the main breaker to the house to show the kids how it worked in case of emergency.
- After flipping it back on, I noticed some outlets were not working, 9 to be exact, and a light circuit with 3 lights. I have power coming out each circuit breaker in the panel. I have no power to any of the 9 outlets, I have them all hanging out of the gang boxes.
- I have not yet pulled the light fixtures. I figured I would try here first. I was hoping, since everything should be in series, that I had a bad outlet somewhere, but I cant find one that has power coming in and none going out.

How to Reset a Main Circuit Breaker
- This condition usually indicates that the main circuit breaker did not get fully turned back into the “ON” position.
- The solution would be to turn the circuit breaker back into the “OFF” position all the way, and then flip the breaker beck into the “ON” position.
- This should fully restore your home electricity to all of your circuits.
