Wiring for Replacement 3-Way Light Switches
Question: I have an installed 3-way switch that I want to replace with a 3-way switch with pilot light so when I’m in the house I can tell if someone left the light on in the attached garage.
- The 2nd 3-way switch is located in the garage by the service door and is fine the way it is.
- Existing wires in the house electric box: white, black, red and ground.
- New pilot switch to be installed is a
- Pass & Seymour Legrand 695-IG Combination Device 15A 120V 3WY SW W/PLT LIGHT.
- Pilot light on top and switch on the bottom.

- Jerry, my search on the internet found no wiring diagrams for this device, however the electrical wiring specifications did call for 125 volts for the pilot light
- I am assuming that this switch may require a neutral wire, and the 3-way switch portion would be wire just as the original 3-way switch that you are replacing.
