Don’t Pull Your Hair Out Trying to Wire Your Ceiling Fan!
[ad#block] Electrical Question: I am replacing a ceiling fan, having trouble with the wiring. Three wires from the house side, three wires from & to the wall switch, four wires from fan & light. I want constant power to fan & switch to control light, but can’t seem to make it work, why? I can get fan only to work, or light to work when switch is on, no fan, switch off fan works, help

How to Replace an Old Ceiling Fan with a New Ceiling Fan
Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate.
Tools Required: Basic Electricians Pouch Hand Tools and Voltage Tester.
Estimated Time: Depends on personal level experience and ability to work with tools.
Precaution: Identify the ceiling fan circuit, turn it OFF and Tag it with a Note before working with the wiring.
Ok Jeff, step back, pour yourself a cup of coffee and go over the wiring. Look at the wiring diagrams I’ve provided below. You know, sometimes the answer is right in front of our face and its so obvious we just can’t see it, but you will (and then you’ll laugh about how easy it was.)
