[ad#block]Electrical Question: I am upgrading an electric service panel.
We have a deer club in NJ used 30 days a year.
The old electrical service panel is in a  bathroom 3 feet from water, so it will not pass inspection.
I would like to gut old panel and use it as junction box and install new panel box in safe location (upstairs above old panel box).

This electrical question came from: Tom in New Jersey.

I have an issue with my current contractor. 1) replace electrical breaker panel, 2) relocate it from west side to north side of the house (up to 30 feet) and all parts including pipes et al under crawl space. It is in Granada Hills (northwest of Los Angeles area). I need to know price range for all above items (ball park figures)
    Thank you.

  2. Dave Rongey says:

    Hi PL,
There are several factors to consider and examine before the electrical project that you have described can be estimated, especially when relocating an electrical to new location. This type of project involves extending the circuit wiring from the existing location to the new location. The process and cost will be affected by the access to all of the wiring and the methods that will be required to perform the work, including the type of available access to relocate the circuit wiring, and the number of circuits involved.
A ball park estimate could not be given without taking a look at the actual project.
    I hope this helps,
