[ad#block]Electrical Question: I have a dining room light that is a chandelier and I am replacing it with a ceiling fan.

The Neutral (white) (3) all tied together tucked in box
One Black wire tied to light fixture
Two Black wires tied to other wire of light fixture.
How do I wire the ceiling fan, one white has the black tape on it, is this from the switch?

How to Replace a Dining Room Fixture with a Ceiling Fan

The connections for the ceiling fan will be the same as the chandelier, except if there is a light fixture on the ceiling fan then it depends on how it will be controlled.
Also note that all ceiling fans require the electrical junction box in the ceiling to be rated and approved for Ceiling Fans.
