Protecting Your X-Box Play Station and Mobile Phone
[ad#block]Surge Protection: I am currently living in an apartment and trying to set up my living room unfortunately there is only one area where there is an available outlets in a small closet area meant for the TV there are six outlets in a bank.
I have a Belkin Surge Master power strip with nine additional outlets and a Belkin misc. power strip. This apt. was built about 10 years ago by my father and unfortunately never finished because of illness. There are other places for outlets to be installed but with lack of expenses I cannot install them. using this bank of outlets & power strips is the only option I have, but I want to do this safely.
The living room area is about 8’w x 16’L. the only way to have proper moving space is by putting the electronic devices on the opposite side of the room. Would it be safer to plug the Surge Master strip into the smaller strip to get to the wall outlet? Or use a construction grade extension cord to plug both strips in and plug the cord into the wall?
The outlets will be used for my TV, speakers, laptop computer, printer, Xbox 360, Playstation 2, misc mobile device chargers, and a battery recharger.
Thank you in advance for the help.

How you can protect your Xbox Playstation and mobile device chargers
Power Quality and Surge Protection for an Xbox Playstation
- The key protection for any electronic device is to make sure that the laptop computer, printer, Xbox 360, Playstation 2, misc mobile device chargers have Surge Protection against poor quality power.
- If you need to use an extension cord make sure it is no longer than twelve feet long and the wire type and gauge is rated for the same circuit amperage that you are connecting to.
