Understanding Circuit Breaker Ratings and Electrical Loads

Ratings for an Electric Circuit Breaker

Ratings for an Electric Circuit Breaker
Just a general question about circuit breakers.

  1. For a 60 AMP, Three Pole Breaker for a three phase receptacle –
    • does that mean that the breaker can go protect up to 60 amps on each leg or will it protect 60 amps in total across all phases?

Thanks!
