Power Adapter for a Nintendo DSi Video Game
[ad#block]Power Adapter Question: I have a DC5V output from the wall adapter going into a DC4.6V Nintendo DSivideo game.
Will the extra .4V cause damage to the DSI in the short/long term?
Many thanks in advance for your expert help.
Thank You,
James

Thanks for your power adapter question James.
The Power Adapter for a Nintendo DSi Video Game
- The Power Adapter For the Nintendo NDSi
- Requires a power supply that provides the following
- Input of AC100V – 240V, 50/60Hz 12VA
- Output of DC4.6V 900mA.
- The voltage and mA output are essential to maintain the acceptable power requirements of the Nintendo NDSi.
- The output voltage of your existing power supply is greater that that which is specified and I am unaware of the mA capability which is very important to maintain adequate power for the Nintendo NDSi Video Game.

I have read many of your articles about using the proper power supply. I am trying to replace a power supply (INPUT: 100-240V, 50-60Hz, 0.8A; OUTPUT: 15V, 1600mA), but am finding it very difficult. As you had mentioned in this article “The voltage and mA output are essential”, is the input important as well? I have seen many replacement supplies similar to my model (SAW24-138-1500) with the Input as a single value (within the range), does that matter?
Hi Keith,
It is best to find a replacement power supply with the same Input and Output specifications, or one that specifically states that the power supply is fully compatible with the specific device that you are providing power for. A power supply that is UL rated and comes with a warranty is very helpful as as well.
