Installing Outdoor Electrical Wiring
[ad#block]Question: I have a permit to install a outside light with a receptacle at the base of our flag pole.
- I have a 15 amp breaker on the outside of our house that is 12 wire.
- I don’t know how deep to dig for the wire.
- The distance is 37 feet from the house to flag.
- I think there are three ways of doing it,but I just need to understand one.
Please help.
Thank you,
Mark

Thanks for your electrical question Mark.
How to Install Outdoor Electrical Wiring
- Mark, if you will be installing PVC conduit then it must be installed at a depth of 18 inches below grade.
- If you will be installing UF Direct Burial Cable then it must be buried at a depth of 24 inches below grade.
- Make sure your receptacle is a GFI for proper protection.
