Installing Outdoor Electrical Wiring
[ad#block]Question: I have a permit to install a outside light with a receptacle at the base of our flag pole.

I have a 15 amp breaker on the outside of our house that is 12 wire.
I don’t know how deep to dig for the wire.
The distance is 37 feet from the house to flag.
I think there are three ways of doing it,but I just need to understand one.

How to Install Outdoor Electrical Wiring

Mark, if you will be installing PVC conduit then it must be installed at a depth of 18 inches below grade.
If you will be installing UF Direct Burial Cable then it must be buried at a depth of 24 inches below grade.
Make sure your receptacle is a GFI for proper protection.

Basic Electricians Pouch of Hand Tools, a Voltage Tester and a Multi Meter.

Depends on personal level experience, ability to work with tools, work with electrical wiring, and the available access to the project area.

Identify the project circuit, turn it OFF and Tag it with a Note before working with the wiring.
