Electrical Question from Dar about Troubleshooting a Circuit

[ad#block]Question: I have a two flat building. The lights dim out about every 5 seconds very often. I have two separate meters, one for each floor, and this happens very often in each floor at the same time…HELP?

Thanks for your electrical question.
Hi Dar – Have the main service checked from the main panel up to the service entrance. It sounds like there is a loose connection that is beginning to fail. It could very well be a connection with the neutral. The only other possibility would be a heavy load that is cycling on and off. A qualified electrician would be able to locate the problem simply by making a few checks and using some test equipment.
