Electrical Question from Doug about Other Electrical Issue
[ad#block]Question: I have an older (1994)camping trailer with an older Magnatek converter in it. The problem is we have a constant hum through all of our audio speakers in the trailer even when the speakers are not being used. Then when you turn anything DC powered on you get a huge hum (surge noise) through the speakers for a moment. Any ideas what could be causing this?
Dave’s Reply:
Thanks for your electrical question Doug. Some of the Magnatek inverters have specific built-in filtering to eliminate or reduce the problem of noise that is produced when using other devices such as audio equipment. Your unit may not have that feature.
