Question: I want to install a Hunter ceiling fan with light. I have 14-3 wire in the existing box.
The wiring instructions say:
connect ground to ground

Electrical Question about: Ceiling Fan Wiring

[ad#block]Question: I want to install a Hunter ceiling fan with light. I have 14-3 wire in the existing box.
The wiring instructions say:
connect ground to ground
connect white to white
connect black to black
connect black/white to black/white
I don’t have a black/white coming from the existing box
I have a ground, white, black and red wires.

Am I to connect the black/white coming from the fan to the red?
Everything else looks easy.
