Hunter 27182 Dimmer Switch and Control Switch
Reviewing the Electrical Question:
- How to Wire a Hunter Breeze model 27182 dimmer & fan control switch.
- David, from the information you have provided, the Hunter model 27182 dimmer & fan control switch is wired as follows:
The Black wire is connected to the Hot or Power Supply.
The Blue Wire connects to the wire for the Ceiling Fan.
The Red Wire connects to the wire for the Light of the ceiling fan.
The Green Wire connects to the Ground Wire(s).
- If the previous switch was used to switch the Fan and Light separately then the wiring in the switch box will need to be tested to see which wires are designated for the Fan and Light functions, as well as the Power and the Neutral wires.
If the previous switch did not control the Fan and Light separately then additional wiring will need to be installed to provide these capabilities.
Install a Ceiling Fan Remote Control Module Kit which will provide separate control functions that will work when the additional wiring is not available for the separate functions.
- Important Note:
The circuit power should be turned Off before replacing or wiring this switch.
