Why Electrical Junction Boxes Should Not Be Covered Up
[ad#block]Question: The ceiling lights have been removed and the ceiling tiled, I want to put ceiling lights back, how can I find where they were, is there some device that will reveal their location. I don’t want to damage the ceiling tiles and the attic floor has flooring so can’t check that way. Help!
P.S. This is an old house so I’m sure they had ceiling lights originally.

Thanks for your electrical question Ramona.
Well Romona, the ceiling light fixture wiring should have been in an electrical junction box, and as we know, electrical junction boxes should never be covered up, so you might want to ask who ever installed the ceiling tiles just where the wiring is at. Usually the light fixtures are in the center of the room. Hopefully that will help you, the only other thing I would suggest is to plan ahead on your next project?
