Why did my under cabinet puck lights stop working? Troubleshooting a Puck Light Problem.
Puck Light Problem
Electrical Question: Why did my under cabinet puck lights stop working?
My electrical wiring project involves Lost All Power a Puck Light in the Kitchen of a Old Home.
- I turned my under cabinet hard wired lights on, and they came on and then they went dead. I thought that all five bulbs could not have blown at the same time, so I replaced the decor switch, but still no power. Do you have any ideas? The switch is in a box containing two other switches, and both of those switches are working and turning on the light fixtures.
This electrical wiring question came from Carol, a Homeowner in Newcastle, Canada.
Thanks for your electrical wiring question Carol.

Troubleshooting a Under Cabinet Puck Light Problem
This electrical wiring project is about a kitchen area that lost all power to the Puck Lights in the Kitchen of a Old Home.
Puck Light Power Supply
There are several types and brands of Puck Light Fixtures. Many Puck Lights are low voltage, therefore the lights are typically connected to a low voltage power supply. This has been the case when I have installed several Puck Lights made by the WAC Lighting Company. In any case, it is possible that the power supply for your Puck Lights has stopped working. If this is true then the power supply will need to be replaced. Now the next question will be Where is the power supply? Typically, the power supply is installed somewhere around the under cabinet unit, unless your Puck Lights have the power supply built in with the Puck Light Fixture assembly. In that case you will need to see if the power supply is accessible and if it can be replaced. If your Puck Light power supply is not accessible as it is part of one unit, then the entire fixture assembly may need to be replaced.
