Electrical Question from Randy about Wiring a Sub-Panel
Background: Randy, a Handyman from Avon, MN
[ad#block]Question: I want to make a converter box that goes from a 240 50 amp to 120 outlets I am going to run it through a small breaker box into 4 15 amp outlets the plug in for the 240 is 4 prong that is where I run into problem where do I put the ground?

Additional Comments: Thanks for the helpful site

Dave’s Reply:
Thanks for your electrical question Randy. A separate ground bar must be installed into the sub-panel where all the circuit grounds must be terminated. This will provide the required separation between the ground and the neutral. Please protect all circuits with the correct sized circuit breakers.
