Electrical Wires For a Kitchen Light Switch

[ad#block]Question: I was attempting to change a light switch in the kitchen. After taking the old one off I realized that there are more wires than I am used to seeing. Instead of just 3 wires (Black, white, and solid copper) there are 3 sets of the three wires. What are they for and do I need a special switch?
