How to Test Outlets for a Ground Source

[ad#block]Question: I have a 50 year old home, all the electric outlets only have two black wires and two white wires, there are no green ground wires. The wires are sealed inside the plug. Is it possible there is a ground inside the enclosed plug? What can I do to ground the plugs without running ground wires throughout. Help.

Jack, a tester can be used to see if there is a ground source that is present at the outlets. If a ground is not found then a ground wire would need to be installed from the outlets back to the panel and bonded with the main ground system.
