Question: I often find that my ceiling fan motors get burnt during lightning (the lightning need not be strong.very very mild) even if the the main switch is off.

[ad#block]Question: I often find that my ceiling fan motors get burnt during lightning (the lightning need not be strong.very very mild) even if the the main switch is off.  Some appliances get burnt the switch is off but the wire is plugged in to the socket. So what may be the problem. I also find that there are sparks coming out of main switch board during thunder. We are really worried please answer.
