Electrical Question from John about 220 Volt Wiring Diagram
Received from John a Inspector in Ballston Spa, NY
[ad#block]Question: Single strand aluminum wire….not sure if I have this or not in last inspection…..it is paper covered silver wire encased in the BM armored sheathing , no plastic ..
Dave’s Reply:
Thanks for your electrical question.
John sent a picture of what appears to be a single strand of silver wire, but from what I see, this is an older wire that is tinned copper wire that has a cloth type of insulation which is attached to a circuit breaker. Sorry, but the picture is not clear enough for me to post it here. As a home inspector John performs a series of inspections that include the home electrical system and devices.
