James, because the outlet looses power after taking a shower it is very possible that the GFI outlet is reacting to excessive moisture in the bathroom or that it just might be wearing out and needs to be replaced. If the bathroom is not well ventilated then you may consider installing an bathroom exhaust fan to help reduce moisture. Also make sure that the outlet is not getting splashed with water which will definitely be a problem.
