Microwave Oven Power Source
The Electrical Circuit Power for a Microwave Oven – When the power is on all the time, these circuit components will maintain a constant temperature and the state of the components will be constant.
Microwave Oven Power – Can It Be Switched On and Off?
[ad#block]Electrical Question: This is more of an electronics question.
Will cycling the electric circuit power from a switched outlet cause damage to a microwave oven?
The power is turned on before the oven is used then turned off when done.

Thanks for your electrical question David.
Microwave Oven Power Source
David, when there are internal electronic power components, such is found in a microwave oven, I would bet that a constant supply of the circuit power would be best. When the power is on all the time, these circuit components will maintain a constant temperature and the state of the components will be constant, such as capacitors. If the power to the microwave oven is cycled on and off and these components cool off and discharge, then there could be the possibility of an eventual breakdown or shortened life span for the electronic components withing the microwave oven. You may want to consult with the manufacturer of the microwave oven for their circuit power specifications as well.
