## Wiring Diagrams for Half Hot Receptacles

[ad#block]Electrical Question: I have a receptacle where 3 pairs of 14-2 lines enter the outlet box, how should this be wired?

• One pair of Wires is the feed.
• The second pair goes to a switch on the wall to control a light. (the brass tab is missing, thus making this a half hot receptacle).
• The third pair go to another receptacle on the other side of this wall.
• The wires were back stabbed except for the black feed and a white neutral (I believe the neutral goes to the switch) Both the black feed and white neutral are connected to the same screw.

Here is the Problem:

• The switch on the wall does not work. (I replaced the switch, still nothing)
• The light that is plugged into this outlet is plugged into the side of the receptacle that the black feed is connected to.
• The light works when it is plugged into the receptacle. But the switch does nothing.

How should this be wired?
Thanks
