[ad#block]Electrical Wiring: Several years ago, I upgraded my service panel to 200A. I also had spa box installed in anticipation of installing hot tub. Just now getting ready to install hot tub and found something that does not look right.
- The cable from the breaker panel has three #6 or #8 insulated wires (red, black, and white) and 1 uninsulated ground wire that is #12.
- I expected to see all wires the same size. Do I need to replace the cable feeding the spa box with one that has a ground wire the same size as the current carrying conductors?

John, the ground wire is not required to be the same size as the service conductor wires for this circuit.
