[ad#block]Question: Hi, I was wondering if it was OK to have a GFCI wall outlet within 5ft. of a shower stall in a half bath? Also, is it OK to not have an outlet near the sink in the same half bath? Cliff
Dave’s Reply:
Thanks for your electrical question Cliff.
Cliff, the outlets in the bathroom are required to be GFCI or ground fault protected and they should not be directly in the shower area or reachable while in the shower stall. Because the outlets are required to be GFCI protected they may be installed at the sink area and are one GFI outlet is required at each sink.
