Question: What is 3-way electrical switch ?
Dave’s Reply:
Thanks for your electrical question Ko. When a light fixture needs to be turned on or off from two locations two 3-way switches are used. A typical application would be a hallway that has access from either end. Therefore having a 3-way switch at each entrance of the hallway would provide the ability to turn the lights on or off. Another application would be a stairway. 3-Way switches are also used with 4-way switches, which allows 3 or more switches to control light fixtures.
