Electrical Question from Mike about Adding Lights

Received from Mike a Homeowner in Braintree, Massachusetts.

Question:
I have track lighting installed, Hampton Bay track and lights.
I want to add a small hard wired light to hang from the track down over my kitchen island.
Now I see track pendants that do this but the light I want to buy is not a track light, it is a regular hard wired type of light.
Is this possible and what adapter would I need maybe to get this to work?

Additional Comments: Website is great. Wish I had found it sooner..

Dave’s Reply:
Thanks for your electrical question.

Adding a Pendant Light to a Track Light

Mike, I have not seen an adapter as you have described. However it it would be best to install a track light pendant light assembly that is made specifically to be compatible with your track light. This would make sure it works properly and is safe for the application.
