Wiring GFCI Outlets
Electrical Question: I upgraded my bathroom outlets recently. I noticed that after the work, I do not have power from these outlets. These outlets are protected by GFCI from the garage. Thinking that I have some ground fault somewhere, reopened all the bath outlets and inspect and rewired. I cannot reset the GFCI. Since it looked burnt, I replaced with a new GFCI.
I followed the same wiring from the old GFCI, powered back on from the breaker, GFCI test and reset. With this process, I thought I will have power but no success! I tested the LINE and it shows power but whenever you plug a lamp to the GFCI outlet, it does not work.
I am not sure what else is causing the GFCI outlet not to work but my general knowledge is if I connected the LINE and GROUND wire and not worry about the LOAD wires for the meantime and hit RESET the outlet should work.
I am looking for something that I might have overlooked. Thanks and your guidance is appreciated.
