Residual Current Device and GFCI Outlets
Mike, here in the USA our GFCI which is the equivalent of the UK RCD is not required to be installed for refrigerators and freezers, especially if there is a single receptacle outlet that the unit is plugged into. Check with your UK code to double check your local requirements.
