Dimmer Switch Requires Replacement When Damaged
[ad#block]Question: Our bathroom dimmer switch had sparks. The electrician who repaired it blamed it on force that damaged the metal plate. No one used force but I am wondering if accumulated force in shutting the dimmer switch off and on could have damaged the metal plate. This is a 230 dollar question.

Kai, force of any kind can lead to sustained damage to your dimmer switch es metal plate. You may consider having a different style dimmer switch installed which will not be damaged as easily.
