Electrical Troubleshooting for Ceiling Fan Wiring
[ad#block]Question: I installed a ceiling fan and three days later the light would not work. I checked with a volt meter to see if power was going to light when light was switched on.There was none. I took the fan down and returned it and got another.This time this fan has a remote.The fan and light worked for a day then only the fan would work. My wife turned the fan, light off at the wall switch and tried to turn it on again on the wall switch.The lights would not go on, only the fan.

I purchased four ceiling fans in 2013 to put in a new house that was prewired for ceiling fans. On 6/27/2015 three of the fans quit working. No breakers were tripped. The next day the fourth fan quit. Each has its own remote. We tried manually working the pull chains. That did not work either. We double checked all breakers and all were fine. I’m stumped.
