Casablanca Ceiling Fan Wiring
How to Wire a Casablanca Ceiling Fan and Remote Control – The wiring connections for a Casablanca Ceiling Fan are very straight forward because these ceiling fans use their own proprietary remote control system and all of the switching is done at the remote control module which is internal at the ceiling fan, there is no need to install a separate module.
Casablanca Ceiling Fan and Remote Control Wiring
[ad#block] Electrical Question: I’m trying to figure out the wiring in a new Casablanca Vermont Fan model # C34G546M. Can split the fan from light control. Mounting the fan at top of 2 story stairwell, fine for remote to control the fan (and light) upstairs, but want the light switch at bottom of stairs to control light, so want to bypass the remote for the light.
Casablanca before ordering (I called) said no problem, upon receiving support said “you can’t, will void warranty” and I said they said you can and am sure people do all the time – please tell us color of the wire, referred us to customer support center admitting you can, but “they don’t want you to” but Florida center is just a recording (nearest center apparently)…can you help?

Mark, I have installed literally hundreds of ceiling fans and the Casablanca Ceiling Fan is one of the best ceiling fans your customer could ever purchase. The wiring connections for a Casablanca Ceiling Fan are very straight forward because these ceiling fans use their own proprietary remote control system and all of the switching is done at the remote control module which is internal at the ceiling fan, there is no need to install a separate module. The wiring connections are basic color to color and all the switching is done through the hand held remote control or the Casablanca remote wall switch. It just doesn’t get any simpler, these fans are rock solid and I have never had a Casablanca ceiling fan wobble, they are simply First Class and one of the Best.

I have a Casablanca Ceiling fan. I took everything apart to get to the flywheel where I replaced the set screw into the rubber disk that holds the fan blades on. It has a small circuit board in it with wires that go into these plastic wire holders. I made a drawing where all the wires go and thought I got all the wires right but the fan comes on when you turn the power on, but it shouldn’t because it has separate switch on the wall. The lights do work either. I cannot find the book or model number.
It sounds like the control board may have been damaged and needs to be replaced. The model number of the Casablanca Ceiling Fan should be on a label that is attached to the top portion of the motor housing or the base where the light fixture is attached. Another option may be to find a local electronic repair shop that may be able to fix the cracked circuit board and broken solder circuits, but that is a tedious task. See if the circuit board has a number on it that you can use to search for a replacement part.
I hope this helps you.
I have a Casablanca ceiling fan. My son pulled the light pull chain out. The fan chain is still connected and working fine. I bought a new pull chain switch. The switch is gray, round and has two black round pieces stacked below it with wire connections. I am trying to make sure I wire it correctly. There are two black wires coming out of the pieces below the pull chain part. There are two gray wires coming out of the two bottom pieces leading to a rectangular black box with a diagram on it. There is a brown and a green wire leading out of the box. There is a black wire and two gray wires coming out of the ceiling. There is one black wire leading out of the light.
Any direction you could provide would be very helpful. I don’t want fry anything!
How to Wire a Ceiling Fan Pull Chain Light Switch
Typically the wiring for a ceiling fan light involves a blue wire and a white wire. The pull chain switch basically is wired into the circuit of the blue, thereby wire providing the On and Off operation.
The rectangular black box that you have described is the capacitor for the ceiling fan motor and the circuit wiring connected to it should NOT be connected to the pull chain light switch.
The Best Way to Replace a Ceiling Fan Light Switch
It is best to take note of the existing wiring of the original pull chain switch, obtain the exact replacement switch, then connect the new replacement switch the exact same way as the original switch.
I hope this helps,
