How Many Outlets Can Be Added to One GFI Outlet?
Background: Paul, a Handyman from San Diego, California
[ad#block]Question: Sir, I currently have three (3) standard electrical outlets serviced by a GFCI outlet. All work great and I do not have any electrical issues with this configuration (the GFI always pops off if the three standard outlets get wet). I need, however, to add two more additional standard outlets to the existing configuration. Therefore, the GFCI will now service five (5) standard outlets. So, can a single GFCI safely and effectively handle five (5) standard electrical outlets?
Thank you,
Paul
Additional Comments: IT’S GREAT!

Thanks for your electrical question Paul.
Paul, as long as you are not exceeding the capacity of the circuit then yes you can safely add additional outlets.
