Question – 220 Volt Circuit – Part 1
By Dave Rongey - Summary:|
Some exercise equipment will require a dedicated 220 volt circuit.
I recently bought a heavy-duty treadmill which my parents insisted be placed in the garage. The treadmill uses a NEMA 5-20 plug and needs 220 volts. The only outlets we have in the garage are 110V. Is there anything I can or should do? I looked at converters but I am VERY new to all this and don’t know which one to buy.
Is there a dryer in the garage that uses 220 Volt?
Or – is the Main Electrical Panel on an outside wall of the garage?
Before I go into what you could do, I’ll let you get back to me with the answer – ok?
